Third floor common room [Saturday afternoon]

Something about the plotline of the meta for Twilight book she'd received at Halloween had been bothering Mara, and so she'd taken herself, the book and her datapad to the common room for junk food and space to spread out.

As she worked her way through a bag of everything bagel-flavored popcorn, she scanned her fanfic bookmarks...and that's when it hit her.

"This is the plot for the one where Face fell in love with the beautiful Twi'lek with the mysterious past!" she said aloud, giggling. "I don't know, I think sitonmyface69 did it better..."

Isabela was leading a raid on the Third Floor's food supply, it sounded more piratical than 'all the good stuff was gone on ours'.

"Well, fancy meet you here."

Mara beamed at her. "Hey, Isabela! This is the terrible book I was telling you about."

Isabela grinned back. "The good terrible one or just terrible one?"

Did the dirty parts make up for the terrible parts?

[giveherahand]

"Sadly, just terrible," Mara said. "Lots of longing looks, no payoff."

Having secured a bag of spicy ...whatever these were, Isabela sighed and flopped down on a couch. "If I wanted that, I'd go to ethics class."

"The Jedi?" Mara said. "There's a ton of old stuff about them in my galaxy."

[good_for_six]

"Really? What kind of old stuff?" Isabela asked casually, as if she didn't have a nearly full notebook to lend Merrill.

[giveherahand]

"Oh, news footage, interviews, ridiculous fiction written about their repressed, religious selves..." Mara said. "Stuff like that."

Isabela's voice was pure innocence as she asked "Ridiculous fiction? You don't say."

[giveherahand]

"A few, here and there," Mara said just as innocently. "It's been almost sixteen years since Jedi were allowed to exist, so you have to know where to look to find the good stories."

[good_for_six]

That was a disturbing choice of phrase, but Isabela focused on what was important in the short term. "I don't suppose you would? Know, I mean."

[giveherahand]

"Of course I would," Mara said. "I'm not a bad slicer."

Isabela wasn't really sure what skill with blades had to do with it, but if it got her more bawdy stories all the more reason to keep honing her own. "Care to share the wealth? I might know where you can get some new ones in trade."

Straight from the presses as it were.

Mara reached for the datapad and began typing. "What's your preference?" she asked. "Domestic, implausible injury, de-aged?"

"Which does the sex parts best?"

At times, she was a woman of simple needs.

[giveherahand]

"Oh, implausible injuries for sure," Mara said, scrolling. "Here. This one they have to have sex because of a weird alien flower."

Sex pollen=universal.

"Ooooh, it was magical spider goo in mine."

[giveherahand]

"Ewww," Mara said, laughing. "This one is much prettier, I promise." She held out the datapad.

"No, see, in addition to the sex, the goo meant they had to peel off each other's clothing before they could tend to their injuries," Isabela explained as she took the pad, hopefully it worked like those tablet things in Ghanima and Tahiri's class. "While still being slippery enough they could use it for other things." Hence why it was magic goo.

"Ohhhh, that's pretty ingenius," Mara said. "I think this one just kind of...forgot about that need."

"There was some vigorous workshopping whle figuring that bit out."

[giveherahand]

Mara snorted. "I can imagine. Do you try things out to see if they work in real life as well as fiction?"

[good_for_six]

"Well, not everything," Isabela said, grinning and stretching. "But it can be helpful setting a mood, and certain people are very inspirational."

[giveherahand]

"Knock yourself out," Mara teased, "just as long as it's not on Monday nights. I don't want to have to tell the entire island what--who--you were up to."

Isabela and actually listening when redheads told her not to do things weren't always the best combination.

"I'll keep that in mind."

[giveherahand]

"Well, at least you're my age," Mara said. "When it's the grown-ups on the island...eww."

[good_for_six]

"What if it's the ones who aren't old old? Like the hot bartenders?"

[giveherahand]

"Depends on the bartender," Mara decided. "Not Tino."

[good_for_six]

"Definitely not." Isabela didn't have many lines, but Tino was definitely over all of them.

"Good," Mara said. "Because ewwwww."
